Internship at Guemes North Homestead

I periodically offer internships to a few special people who want to learn from me and the projects at my off-grid homestead. 
With more than 50 years with tools in my hands and more than 35 years off-grid, I have a lot to share. 
And the homestead has endless work to be done. So if you’re looking to learn about this lifestyle by doing and contributing, consider spending some time with me.

Possible Skills to Share/Discover

* Renewable energy system design, installation, promotion, and education
* Homestead skills
* Gardening and orcharding
* Animal management, butchering, etc.
* Home design and construction
* Woodworking, plumbing, electrical, and the like
* Mechanical repair and maintenance of all kinds
* Road and trail building and maintenance
* Tree climbing/trimming/treehouse building
* Artistic landscape, building, and other design

Community service work on the island, including land preservation and trail maintenance work Potential candidates will:

• Be high-energy, low-ego, good humored, hard working, folks who want to learn by doing
• Provide their own food and personal support
• Travel to and from the homestead by bicycle or foot (car parking available 4 miles away)
• Make a commitment for 3+ months of 30+ hours per week of work, with a 2-week trial period
• Contribute financially for your time on the homestead, minimum $200 per month
